dc.description.abstract Performance is essential to any organization since it brings into existence the growth of the organization as well as the comfort and improvement of employees. The beneficial factors that are attatched to employees include good working conditions, compensation, employee wellbeing and workplace safety measures which leads to the achievement of goals and objectives of the organization. The study sought to determine the effect of employee welfare determinants on performance of three star hotels in Kisii County Kenya. Specific objectives were:to determine the effect of employee working conditions on performance of three star hotels in Kisii County, to examine the effect of employee wellbeing on performance ofthree star hotels in Kisii County, to ascertain the effect of employee compensation on performance of three star hotels in Kisii County, and to establish the effect of employee workplace safety measures on organizational performance ofthree star hotels in Kisii County. Philanthropy Theory and Herzberg’s two factor theory were used. Descriptive survey design was used to test the hypothesis because itaccurately represented the target population. The target population of the study consisted of 297 employees working in three star hotels.Stratified and simple random sampling techniques was used to select the respondents. The sample size was 242. Primary data was collected by use of structured questionnaires. Pilot study was conducted in Maya Holiday Point Hotel situated near Sameta Hills in Ogembo Sub-County using questionnaires to measure content validity. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistical methods, correlation analysis was done using Pearson product moment correlation. The study used multiple regression model to test the effects of the employee welfare determinants on organizational performance. Tables, charts, graphs frequency, percentages, mean, standard deviation and figures were used to present the results. The study concludes that working conditions, employee wellbeing, compensation as well as workplace safety measures enhance organizational performance in hotels. The study recommended that hotels need to work towards recognizing their staff appropriately so that they can exhibit improved organization performance. Hotels need to fully embrace employee welfare determinants due to its benefits to the human resource pool. en_US
