Abstract:
Much appreciation to God for his sufficient grace during the study. I sincerely extend my thanks
to my supervisors Dr. Stella Omari and Dr. Yobes Nyaboga from the School of Business and
Economics (SOBE) for their devotion and patience to this wonderful work. They have enabled
me to reach this far during difficult times. To all my family members, thanks for the conducive
environment you accorded me during my study. My special appreciation goes to Kiamokama,
Ogembo and Nyamache tea factories management for creating an enabling environment that I
received during my data collection.My appreciation goes to the school of Business and
Economics(SOBE) especially Prof. Christopher Ngacho, Dr. Joshua Wafula and Dr. Andrew
Nyangau for always addressing the needs of the students and to the Board of Postgraduate
studies for effectively monitoring students‟ progress towards successful completion of the
research studies. Also my appreciation goes to my fellow workmates for who continued to
